Master Plumbers, and the guarantee that comes with it
Membership is current, and work can be covered by the Master Plumbers Guarantee. It is a real backstop rather than a logo in a footer: it means there is somebody behind the work if something goes wrong later.
Three trades, one firm
We hold Craftsman Plumber registration in the firm, along with gasfitting and drainlaying qualifications, and we have licensed gasfitters and certifying drainlayers on staff. Jobs that cross between the three do not need a second contractor.
Sixty-two years in the same town
Since March 1964, and second generation since 1996. We are plumbing for the children of people this firm plumbed for in the sixties. That is not a marketing line, it is just what happens when a firm stays put.
You get a straight answer about timing
The phone is answered in our own office by someone who knows where every van is. If we cannot get to you this week, you will hear that on the first call rather than after three days of waiting.
Free quotes, either way
Send photos and we will usually price it from those. For bigger work we come and look. Both are free, and the minimum charge on a job is half an hour of labour.
We tell you when it is not worth it
If the element is the problem we will not sell you a cylinder. If your roof needs replacing rather than repairing, we will say so even though re-roofing is not work we do. Being wrong once in a town this size costs more than the job was worth.
And the things we are not
Just as useful, and rarer on a trade website. We do not run a 24 hour emergency service: we work Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, and after-hours callouts are for customers we already look after. We do not do new roofs, only roof repairs and spouting. And we are a team of seven, so a large new commercial build is a job for a bigger firm than ours.

Employed. There are five plumbers on the road who work for us permanently, plus two in the office.
