Servicing is the part people skip
A water filter is not a fit and forget appliance. The cartridge is doing a job, and once it is full it stops doing it, then starts restricting flow. Most systems we are called to have not been touched in several years, and the owner's first clue is that the kitchen tap has slowed to a trickle.
We service and re-cartridge existing systems regardless of who installed them, and we will tell you what interval yours actually needs rather than quoting a number off the box.

Drinking water
An under-sink filter on a dedicated tap is the simplest option: it treats what you drink and cook with, and leaves the rest of the house alone. It is the cheapest way to fix taste and odour complaints.
Whole house
Whole house filtration treats everything that comes into the property. It makes the most sense on tank and bore supplies, and on any supply carrying sediment, because sediment is quietly hard on tapware, cylinders and appliances as well as unpleasant to drink.

How often do filter cartridges need replacing?
It depends on the system and the water going through it, but most household cartridges are a yearly job. If nobody can remember the last time it was changed, it is overdue.
Can you service a system another company installed?
Yes. We service and re-cartridge existing systems as well as installing new ones, whoever put it in.
We are on tank water. What do we actually need?
Usually sediment filtration and some form of treatment for bacteria, sized to the household. Tank water varies enormously depending on the roof, the tank and how it is maintained, so it is worth getting it looked at rather than guessing from a catalogue.
Is this just for drinking water?
Not necessarily. An under-sink filter treats the drinking tap, while a whole house system treats everything, which matters more for tank supplies, sediment and appliance life.
